For rental in NY and worldwide, the MAKOHEAD Stabilization System. There is no other stabilized head that can match the dramatic advancements of the MAKOHEAD.
This entire system has been designed for the Marine environment. Ideal for cameras and binoculars shipboard mounted.
Only the MAKOHEAD can be mounted horizontally, which allows simultaneous stabilization of vertical and under-slung mounted systems. It also has a unique quick release/attach base mount; enabling mounting & activation within a few minutes. And each unit is supplied with an easily attachable “Float Plate” anti-vibration/shock system, for very demanding applications.
Yet the MAKOHEAD is less than 12” high, weighs less than 45 pounds, and can operate on voltages from 24VDC to 36VDC. Plus the range of motion is up to 90° of roll and 260° of tilt! Gyros are not used in this product.
Jordan Klein of Mako Products, Inc., the award-winning innovator of underwater housings and other film and video advancements, developed this new camera stabilization system that promises to revolutionize the production of action photography.
The Makohead employs state-of-the-art technology to lock in on, and maintain, the horizon line even in the most unstable shooting situations. Built tough, waterproof and easy to handle, the Makohead renders expensive, complex, and fragile stabilization systems obsolete. If you can flip a switch, you can operate a Makohead – NO TECHNICIAN REQUIRED - and multiple same-day camera set-ups are a breeze.
With the military-style precision of its advanced electronics (no noisy, no power-hungry gyros!), the Makohead finds level within 60 seconds of activation whether it is mounted vertically, underslung or HORIZONTALLY. It commonly runs four to six hours on one rechargeable battery.
Quick set-up to any surface is achieved through the unique, single-pin connection to the base mount; plus the effects of shock and vibration are greatly reduced by the included Float Plate base. The Makohead can even be “detuned” to create the feeling of “being at sea” while still maintaining an appropriate horizon line.
With the proper mounts, the Makohead can stabilize the heaviest of camera systems, even though it’s only 12” high and weighs less than 50 pounds. It’s range of motion is 90 degrees of roll and 260 degrees of tilt.
Makoheads are available for rent and can be promptly shipped anywhere in the world.
